Product features

  • Clear Glaze provides UV protection and water resistance, making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor surfaces. It enhances the durability of your painted projects while offering a beautiful finish.
  • Antique Glaze can be used to add a vintage or aged look, and its tone can be customised by diluting or mixing with Tjhoko Paint colours.

Storing Suggestions

  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Always replace the wax paper seal before closing the lid to keep the glaze airtight and prevent it from drying out.
  • Stir or shake the glaze well before use for a smooth application.

Diluting Your Glazes

Clear Glaze:

  • To adjust the sheen, dilute Clear Glaze with cooled boiled water.
  • For best results, dilute the clear glaze by mixing 3 parts glaze with 1 part water. This ensures a smoother application and optimal finish.
  • When applying Clear Glaze to darker surfaces, especially black, dilute it 50/50 with cooled boiled water to avoid streaks.

Antique Glaze:

  • Dilute with cooled boiled water to control the intensity of the stain. A lighter finish requires more water, while a stronger finish needs less.

Tips and Tricks

  • Use cooled boiled water when diluting Clear Glaze to avoid contamination, ensuring your leftover glaze can be stored in a separate container for later use.
  • For surfaces needing extra protection, such as kitchen cabinets, do not dilute Clear Glaze, as undiluted glaze provides maximum durability and water resistance.
  • Dilute Antique Glaze for a lighter, transparent effect, or mix with paint to adjust the glaze’s tone and create a custom finish.
